FORMS OF WORSHIP USED IN OUR CHURCHES

The Book of Common Prayer

The services of Holy Communion and Evening Prayer are regularly used each week throughout the year. Morning Prayer is occasionally used at times when a priest is not available to celebrate at the Eucharist.

The times when BCP is used is shown within the details for each church. Please click on the appropriate link for further details.

Common Worship

Authorisation for the use of The Alternative Services Book (1980) terminated in the year 2000 and has been replaced with Common Worship. The main Eucharistic Service at Christ Church each Sunday will normally be from Common Worship with a shortened form being used for occasional Seasonal Services during Lent and Advent and to celebrate the Ascension.

Church Services

Click on the appropriate link for details of regular worship in our three churches. Briefly, services are held in Christ Church each Sunday throughout the year, St. Oswald's on the first and third Sunday each month and All Saints each week during the summer months of July, August and September. Special and seasonal services are held as appropriate.

Christ Church - Services in the Parish Church of Great Ayton with Easby.

All Saints - Services in the Ancient 12th century former Parish Church.

St Oswald's - Services in the Parish Church of Newton-in-Cleveland.

Seasonal - Additional services for special occasions.

Occasional Services - Services for Baptisms, Weddings, etc.
